Principal's welcome
Hello! I am Ms. Lily, a passionate educator who has taught children of all ages since 18, and whose dream has always been to create a centre that changes the outlook on learning — allowing children to truly enjoy the process. Since the birth of my daughter Rosie in 2019, that dream became unstoppable.
In 2022 we opened The Beehive Learning Center, and in September 2025 HoneyTree Primary welcomed its first 7 students. We have in the first year, we grew to 11 students across Kinder, Grade 1 & Grade 2 — and we are just getting started. We look forward to growing our HoneyTree family and building our community of little people!
— Ms. Lily Schofield, Principal & CEO, Beehive Learning Group

The Willows — Age 5–6
Year 1 builds systematic phonics and early reading fluency alongside foundational maths. Children continue to learn through exploration and imagination while developing structured habits of learning.

🍄 Bee a part of our futureWhat families say
"One word. Family. As a first time mom I have felt comfortable, supported and involved in my child's learning journey from the beginning. It is evident that all the children in Ms. Lily's care are treated as if they are her own."
R. Samuel
Parent since inception — son now in Grade 1
"My son before HoneyTree would not go to school without a meltdown. Now he runs off as soon as the car door opens. The Principal goes above and beyond for each and every family. When it comes to HoneyTree you won't have to second guess!"

Contact us todayWhat we teach
A thematic, holistic curriculum rooted in the culture of Antigua & Barbuda — inspiring curious, capable and compassionate learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
Our approach
Our curriculum is organised around rich, cross-curricular themes that connect subjects through meaningful real-world contexts. Rather than learning subjects in isolation, our students explore big ideas — from "All About Me" in Kindergarten to "Designing the Future" in Grade 6.
Every theme is grounded in the culture, history and environment of Antigua & Barbuda, building a deep sense of identity and pride alongside academic rigour.
We follow the National Curriculum, supplemented by the Jolly Phonics & UFLI reading programmes, Oxford Reading Programme, STEM, financial literacy, media literacy, and digital literacy.
Core subjects
Reading, writing, grammar, speaking & listening. Jolly Phonics & UFLI phonics throughout primary. Narrative, persuasive, expository & creative writing across all grades.
Number sense, operations, geometry, measurement, data, financial literacy and coding. Problem-based, nature-inspired activities connect maths to real Antiguan life.
Hands-on enquiry from living things and habitats to forces, weather, the human body and the environment. Strong links to Antigua's natural world and climate.
Antigua's history, Caribbean geography, culture, leadership, and global connections. Children develop strong national identity and civic responsibility.
Visual art, music, drama and movement woven throughout every theme. From recorder in Kinder to instruments in upper primary. Christmas and end-of-year productions.
Coding from Kinder (unplugged) through to Scratch & Tynker in Grade 6. Google Workspace, digital storytelling, Canva, media literacy and financial literacy.
Themes by grade
Grades 4–6 themes available on request. All themes connect to the Antiguan national curriculum.
Literacy
Jolly Phonics — Our core programme for Kindergarten, introducing all 42 sounds through songs, actions and stories.
UFLI Phonics — Science of Reading programme used from Grade 1 upwards, building systematic phonics, fluency and comprehension.
Oxford Reading Programme — Structured reading books aligned to phonics progression, supporting confident independent readers.
Jolly Grammar — Reinforcing parts of speech, sentence structure, spelling and punctuation through a structured, fun approach.
Beyond the classroom
Students connect with peers at Highfields Independent School in the UK, developing global awareness and communication skills.
Hands-on planting, harvesting and composting integrated into the science and social studies curriculum every term.
Partnership with Good Humans 268 for recycling, plus beach clean-ups and eco-projects as part of Week Without Walls each term.
Students participate in zonal and national spelling bee and maths competitions, plus end-of-year productions and innovation fairs.
The only primary school in Antigua with a dedicated inclusion programme, ensuring every child has equitable access to quality education.
Each year, we sponsor one child from the community or co-fund two places — because every child deserves this education.
